Everyone in my family loves tacos. It’s a weekly meal in our household. With our busy work, school and kids activity schedules taco dinner is a great meal to have on those hectic evenings. They are quick and easy to make and always delicious. Even my picky eater son likes tacos.
This week I decided to do a taste test. I made ½ of the taco meat with MySpicer taco seasoning and ½ of the taco meat with my store bought taco seasoning. Wow – what a difference!
I opened the bottle of store bought taco seasoning. It smelled delicious, just like taco seasoning should smell. Then I opened the package of MySpicer taco seasoning. I immediately noticed a huge difference. It had such a wonderful aroma, the smell was so much stronger and more pungent than the store bought version. I could smell onion, garlic, and chili pepper immediately.
I could also tell the difference just by looking at the two seasonings side by side. The MySpicer seasoning had a rich, vibrant and full color. The store seasoning was dull looking like it had faded from exposure to light and heat on the store shelves and warehouses. I purchased my store seasoning this year and store it in a cool dark place so in theory it should be as fresh as the MySpicer brand. It was not.
I made two separate tacos, one with each type of seasoning. No comparison. The MySpicer seasoning was so delicious. It tasted like the perfect combination of spices. It had flavor, a bit of a kick and a fabulous aroma. The tacos with store bought seasoning just tasted like tacos. They weren’t bad but they no longer seemed good to me.
If you don’t like beef or chicken in your tacos or you are a vegetarian you can mix this with your black beans or rice as well and it will add the same great flavor to your tacos.
