I make my living as an independent Webmaster so I spend my days sitting in front of the computer. It’s a great job and I love it! I get to work from home in peace and quiet, manage my own schedule and there is always something new and interesting to be learned. The down side to my job is that some days 5 hours may go by and I literally haven’t moved from my computer. The only motion I make is a mouse click with my right hand or typing a quick email.
With so little motion during the day I have found that if I eat a heavy lunch I’m doomed to be asleep on my computer keyboard by late afternoon and the lack of motion certainly doesn’t help my waist line either. A few months back I started experimenting with eating a salad at lunch to help with my afternoon sleepiness. I tried many different combinations but the main problem was that they all tasted so bland. I never felt satisfied and eventually found my way to the cookie jar.
My bland salad woes changed when I got the opportunity to test out the many herbs and spices from MySpicer.com! I tried all different combinations of spices in my salad and was amazed at the difference that fresh spices can make compared to the old spices sitting in my cabinet from the grocery store. My new favorite salad is a Garbanzo Bean and Vegetable Salad. The secret ingredient is the red bell pepper flakes. They add a more robust, meaty and slightly crunchy texture to my salad than fresh bell peppers did which I really like. The black pepper is so fresh and delicious and adds just the right amount of kick.
