It’s that time of year again. Fall, Thanksgiving, the smell of pumpkin pie cooking in my oven. I love Fall for so many reasons, especially the wonderful aroma of spices in my kitchen. I have MySpicer containers spread out all over the counter. The colors go so well with the season, burnt oranges and varying shades of yellows and browns. Allspice, Cinnamon, Cloves, Ginger, Nutmeg, Mulling Spice, and Pumpkin Pie Spice.
Is Pumpkin Pie Spice Better Than Mixing Individual Spices?
In short, no. Our pumpkin pie spice contains all of the same spices you would use including Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, Allspice, and Cloves. One of the main benefits to using this is convenience. You don’t have to mix all of those spices together. Another benefit is cost. If Thanksgiving is the only time you are using these spices it would be easier to have one container instead of five.
There are many other things that Pumpkin Pie Spice can be used in as well. It tastes great in coffee and with your spiced popcorn seasoning. You can also sprinkle it on a pumpkin spice latte or mix in with your pumpkin pancakes.
I still prefer to mix my spices together because I love the aroma and watching the colors combine into a beautiful mixture with the fragrance of fall. But you can bet on Thanksgiving morning that I’ll be sprinkling pumpkin pie spice in my coffee.
