The Chicago Tribune believes that they may have unearthed a KFC recipe – the top secret Colonel’s Original Recipe. The names and amounts of the 11 herbs and spices that make up this recipe have been a long held secret of KFC. In fact, KFC states that they use two different suppliers for different ingredients of the recipe so that no one knows the exact formulation. Regarding storage of the recipe, KFC publishes that “It’s stored in a digital safe that weighs more than 770 pounds and is encased in two feet of concrete with a 24-hour video and motion-detection surveillance system.”
Over the years, many people have claimed to have reproduced this famous recipe, but KFC says they have never been correct. Is this latest version a marketing stunt by KFC or was it really uncovered? KFC is not saying, but you can try for yourself and tell us what you think.
