Chili powder vs. chile pepper – what’s the difference?
Chili powder and chile pepper are not the same thing. Chile pepper is simply chili pods that have been dried and turned into a powder. Chili powders differ from chile pepper in that they have been blended with spices as well.
Our Dark Chili Powder has the addition of cumin, garlic, onion, and other spices. These spices make this blend perfect for not only chili, but also anything with a southwestern flavor.
Our Light Chili Powder also has the addition of cumin, garlic, onion, and other spices to make a lighter southwestern flavor. This version has become one of our biggest sellers.
Our Chile Pepper Blends are just that, a blend of the finest chiles that year’s crop has to offer. We always give you a consistent product you can trust. We offer a Dark Chile Pepper Blend and a Light Chile Pepper Blend.
So if you are looking for additional spices and flavors use our chili powder but if you are looking for the flavor of the chile pepper only, use our chile pepper blend.
